Research and Development (R&D) is a key factor that contributes to the success of any business. However, the outcome of R&D is highly uncertain. Organisations face some important dilemmas/challenges while planning and managing their R&D activities.

Return on R&D investment and the impact of R&D spending on long-term growth and competitiveness is dependent on the existence of sound R&D management. This creates the necessary transparency and facilitates the decision-making
process that allows a company to constantly optimise its portfolio of R&D projects and to adapt it to changing technology, market and competition conditions in time – i.e. to manage risks and maximise its value creation potential.

This summit aims to confront R&D in its modern sense. Companies are now moving away from the perception that R&D is simply the department that makes things happen. They are embedding R&D into the core of the business; involving it in decision making; and putting a lot of effort into aligning R&D with the business strategy. It is for this reason that we are addressing the areas around R&D that do affect its outcome and, if improved, can enhance its activities thus making it more efficient and profitable.

The format of the event will be a combination of panel discussions, case studies and workshops to encourage maximal interaction.
